Modine Airsystems Awarded Governor's Safety Award

    RACINE, Wis.--May 12, 2000--Modine Airsystems (MAS), a subsidiary of Modine Manufacturing Company earned a Governor's Safety Award from the Minnesota Safety Council for excellence in the workplace for safety and health. MAS is one of the employers to be recognized at the Governor's Safety Awards luncheon today at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
    "Workplace injuries and illnesses are a substantial public health issue in Minnesota," said Carol Bufton, president of the Minnesota Safety Council. "Through its commitment to keeping workers safe, Modine Airsystems is making a significant contribution to the quality of life in the St. Paul community." Modine Airsystems' better-than-average performance in incident rates earned it a Meritorious Achievement award in Occupational Safety.
    "I'm very proud of our group," said Dana Henjum, the plant manger for Modine Airsystems. "They have done an excellent job with safety issues at our facility. As of April 26, 2000, our employees have gone 204 days without a recordable injury and 961 days without a lost time injury."
