Mace Statement - Waste Management and Former Eastern Executives Agree to Dismiss Pending Claims Against Each Other

    MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., May 12 Mace Security International,
Inc. (Mace) announced today that Waste Management, Inc., Louis
D. Paolino, Jr., and other individuals formerly involved in Eastern
Environmental Services, Inc., have dismissed pending claims against each other
and agreed to submit all claims to non-binding mediation.  Waste Management's
claims against the individuals filed in the federal court in Delaware, and the
individuals' claims against Waste Management filed in the federal court in
Philadelphia, were each voluntarily dismissed without prejudice.
    The Company's Board of Directors are pleased that the individuals named in
the lawsuit were dismissed of the accusations made by Waste Management, Inc.
The Board believes that the outcome of these events reconfirm the Board's
belief that the allegations against the senior officers of Mace were baseless.
