UNOVA Elects Herrman and Seymour Senior Vice Presidents; Changes Reporting Structure of Industrial Businesses
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif.--May 12, 2000--UNOVA, Inc. announced today that its Board of Directors elected James A. Herrman and Kyle H. Seymour as Senior Vice Presidents of the Corporation. Both executives, who will report directly to UNOVA President and Chief Operating Officer Larry D. Brady, were elected as they moved into new management positions with expanded responsibilities.Herrman, 57, formerly president of the Company's highly successful Landis Grinding Systems division, Waynesboro, Pa., will become group executive for Lamb Technicon's global group of companies with headquarters in Warren, Mich.
Jim Tobin, president of Lamb Technicon Body & Assembly, Chesterfield, Mich., also will report to Herrman.
Herrman replaces Charles E. Wolfbauer, who decided to significantly reduce his business involvement to attend to family matters. Wolfbauer will continue to support the Lamb organization, building and maintaining relationships with key customers.
Lamb Technicon is one of the world's leading providers of manufacturing systems design, engineering and integration services to the automotive and diesel engine producers and their First Tier suppliers. The division operations in North America and Europe cover the complete range of machining systems solutions from low-volume, highly flexible to modular high-volume production lines. Seymour, 39, has been named group executive with responsibility for the Company's Landis Grinding Systems and Cincinnati Machine divisions. Seymour guided the Cincinnati Machine division through a successful reorganization in 1999, achieving a major turnaround in operating performance despite a global machine tool market recession.
Landis Grinding Systems is the global leader in precision grinding technology that enables car producers to manufacture cleaner combustion engines under the increasingly rigid emission standards.
