Tomkins' Investor Meeting

    LONDON--May 11, 2000--Tomkins PLC announces it is holding a two day meeting focusing on operational issues, commencing today in Detroit, for institutional investors and analysts. David Snowdon, Chief Operating Officer, will introduce the operational heads of the company's core strategic business activities, Industrial & Automotive Engineering and Construction Components, who will give presentations covering the background, key factors, general trends and opportunities from e-commerce in their areas of responsibility. There will be presentations from senior operating management from these sectors. Opening remarks will be made by Executive Chairman Gregory Hutchings, who will confirm that trading remains in line with market expectations.
