Tracks: Part Non Conformance leads to disqualification of top finishers at Irwidale

NON-CONFORMING PARTS LEADS TO DQ OF TOP RUNNERS IN MAY 6 FOOD 4 LESS SUPER LATE MODEL EVENT AT IRWINDALE Irwindale, Calif. - - Irwindale Speedway's Director of Competition, Chris Morgan, today announced that both the first and second place finishers in last Saturday night's 75-lap Food 4 Less Super Late Model race would be disqualified on technical grounds stemming from non-conforming parts on both the #50 car driven by Kevin Vernon of Bakersfield, and the #63 car driven by Brandon Miller of Rancho Santa Fe. The race was also the first round of the Miller Lite Big 10 Challenge. Both drivers will loose all points accrued and prize monies won at the May 6, 2000 NASCAR event. This action gives the win to last year's Super Late Model division champion Rod Johnson of Canyon Country. Greg Voigt of Goleta is now classified second, Tim Wood III of Chino third, David Brandon of Palmdale fourth, and Doug Renno of Canoga Park fifth.
