TRW Receives Recognition by Toyota, NUMMI

    LIVONIA, Mich.--May 11, 2000--TRW has received Certificate of Achievement recognition from Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America (TMMNA), Erlanger, Ky., for quality performance in 1999.
    The Company's Brighton, Mich., plant produces braking system proportioning valves for the Toyota Corolla and Chevy Prizm models.
    "Our performance will provide us with more opportunities to win additional North American business with our Japanese customers," said John Plant, executive vice president, TRW Chassis Systems. Yoichi Inakage, sales director, TRW Chassis Systems, added,"We are pleased to be recognized for meeting TMMNA and NUMMI's rigorous standards for quality."
    TRW has also been recognized by NUMMI, the Toyota-General Motors joint venture based in Fremont, Calif., with the 1999 Target Achievement Award for Quality.
