Delphi Elects Patricia Sueltz of Sun to Board of DirectorsTROY, Mich., May 10 Delphi Automotive Systems today announced the election of Patricia C. Sueltz, 47, to its board of directors. Sueltz was elected at a regular meeting of the company's board of directors, which took place in Kokomo, Ind., following Delphi's first annual meeting. Sueltz is the senior vice president of Sun Microsystems Software Products and Platforms Division, a position she has held since October 1999. She oversees Sun's software businesses, including Solaris Software, Consumer/ Embedded Software, Forte Tools, Java Software and, Webtop and Application Software groups. A native of Japan and a naturalized U.S. citizen, Sueltz brings to Delphi more than 21 years of solid experience in the high-technology computer and software industries. "We're extremely excited that Pat has joined the Delphi Board of Directors," said Delphi Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President J.T. Battenberg III. Her knowledge and experience have made her one of the most influential leaders in the Java community. Prior to joining Sun, Sueltz spent 20 years with IBM serving in various senior management positions. She was the lead for IBM's extensive Java technology-based marketing and development activities including directing IBM's strategies for Java technology and XML across IBM's software, hardware and services businesses.
