Collins & Aikman Joins Automation Alley
    TROY, Mich., May 10 Collins & Aikman Corporation
today announced it has joined Oakland County's Automation Alley, a
consortium of over 150 technology-focused companies dedicated to strengthening
the economic base of Oakland County and its immediate area.
    In making the announcement, Collins & Aikman's Chairman and CEO, Thomas E.
Evans noted, "Joining Automation Alley demonstrates our commitment to
enhancing the economic and technological growth potential here in Oakland
County and in the State of Michigan.  Collins & Aikman's relocation to the

    In welcoming Collins & Aikman to Automation Alley, Oakland County
Executive L. Brooks Patterson remarked, "Collins & Aikman's decision to move
