Proformance Drops Rates for Good Drivers

9 May 2000

FREEHOLD, N.J.--The Proformance Insurance Company is offering discounted auto insurance premiums to qualified good drivers that are among the most competitive rates in the market.

The establishment of a new "Super-Preferred Tier", effective May 1, 2000, will result in a 12 percent decrease in rates charged to just over 1,000 vehicles currently insured with the Freehold, N.J., based company.

"Since its inception, Proformance has been about providing comprehensive coverage at an affordable price. The company and its partner agents are dedicated to high quality service and competitive pricing," stated James Gorman, CEO of Proformance.

Noticing that no accidents or points for five years is among the criteria for a good driver, he added that current and prospective Proformance policyholders should check with their independent agents to determine if they qualify for the discounted rates.

The establishment of this new rate was the result of an internal analysis which showed good drivers leaving the company in response to the aggressive marketing campaigns of some of the larger national mass marketing companies. Proformance developed the new discounted rate filing in an effort to provide its agents with a powerful new tool to hold on to existing customers and attract new quality risks. The company's new "Super-Preferred Tier" rate effectively competes with the larger national mass marketing companies in head-to-head comparisons for the best risks in the state.
