A00030 Strong slate of speakers set for 3rd annual AMA Events Promotion Convention PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The American Motorcyclist Association's 2000 Events Promotion Convention will be held in Worthington, Ohio, Oct. 7-9, marking the third year of the popular and fast-growing event. Designed for promoters and clubs that organize motorcycle competition and road-riding events, the AMA Events Promotion Convention offers practical tips, information and networking opportunities for event organizers. The speakers and panelists for the 2000 convention represent a broad range of experience and expertise, and will include: Frank Gerace: Public relations specialist, President of Gerace Communications Dave Harris and Lowell Gratigny: Risk management experts, Executive Vice President and Senior Claims Manager for American Specialty Inc. Dale Greenwald: Member of AMA Congress Executive Committee and AMA Jules Horky Award winner Bob Higdon: Adventure touring rider and motojournalist, past AMA Road Rider of the Year Dave Joiner: Promoter of AMA National Speedway Championships and Fast Fridays Speedway Keith Kizer: President and CEO of AMA Prostar Drag Racing Dick Lepley: Veteran motorcycle and ATV dealer (Street, Track and Trail of Conneaut Lake, PA), supporter of the world's largest off-road ATV event Tim Owens: AMA corporate counsel John Pellan: ATV promoter (Fast Track Promotions) and writer Ken Reid: General Manager of A.D. Scott Thornton, will be involved in the Third Annual AMA Events Promotion Convention. "We're very pleased to have such a strong group of speakers for this year's convention," said AMA Vice President of Events and Entertainment Bill Amick, "but equally important are the convention participants who fuel the exchange of ideas that make this event special." The 2000 AMA Events Promotion Convention will open with a banquet on Saturday evening, Oct. 7, that will also serve as the finale of the 2000 AMA Congress. The convention runs all day Sunday, Oct. 8, closing with an evening reception at the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum in Pickerington, Ohio. The convention will reconvene on Monday morning and wrap-up by noon. The convention's keynote address will be presented by Keith Kizer of AMA Prostar. Longtime motorcycle dealer and organizer Dick Lepley, a member of the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation Development Board, will be the guest speaker at the Hall of Fame Museum reception.
