Enters Strategic Alliance with JLT InsuranceLONDON - allCars.com today announced that it has acquired the businesses of West Midlands Vehicle Rental. West Midlands Vehicle Rental operates nationally throughout the U.K. with an established fleet of more than 700 cars. The deal will allow West Midland Vehicle Rental to accelerate its expansion, including plans to more than double its fleet of cars to 1,500 by the end of the year. Financials were not disclosed. In a related matter, allCars.com entered into an exclusive agreement with leading insurance provider Jardine Lloyd Thompson, through its specialist JLT Dimensions operation. The move is aimed at easing the potentially complex and confusing issues associate with purchasing car insurance. Under the agreement, allCars.com will provide an integrated package of insurance products and services to its online customers. Customers will now be able to make calculated and informed purchasing, ownership and sale decisions based on a very wide range of choice, including finance checks, inspection and valuations, as well as full insurance and servicing. Chris Glover, Chairman of allCars, said: "Today's acquisition and exclusive alliance underscore the fast pace at which we are executing our strategic plan to quickly build one of the most compelling web-based platforms and top brands. These are the types of integrated deals we can use to immediately broaden the scope of our offerings and ensure a more satisfying experience to our customers. Further, we continue to look for ways to more effectively work with the other companies throughout ci4net.com's Econnet. For instance, visitors to ci4net.com's travel site will now be able to access more comprehensive car rental services through allCars.com or allRentals.com and vice versa." Nick Brown, Managing Director of West Midlands Vehicle Rental, said: "We are both proud and excited to be joining ci4net.com's Econet through allCars.com. This perfectly complements our strategic growth plan, broadens our customer base, and will enable us to enhance our services, including offering customers an even wider vehicle selection and better pricing." Stephanie Murdoch, Managing Director of JLT Dimensions, added: "This partnership provides us with the ideal marketplace to provide easy access to motorists to a broad range of competitive insurances and services. By working in parallel with firms like ci4net.com and its partners allCars.com, JLT can enjoy the benefits of the virtual showroom's ready made market." Last week, allCars.com launched a national marketing campaign to raise its profile with end users in the trade and directly with customers. allCars.com plans to spend 5 million pounds on strategic radio, press and poster advertising across the U.K.
