Visteon Announces Agreement With Sirius for Satellite Radio Delivery
DEARBORN, Mich., May 8 Visteon continues its tradition of
associating with industry leaders to develop innovative products with the
announcement of an agreement with Sirius Satellite Radio. This agreement
combines Visteon's vehicle systems and multimedia expertise with Sirius' 100
channel audio entertainment service.
Under the agreement, Sirius Satellite Radio will broadcast this
revolutionary digital audio service directly from its three satellites to
audio products created by Visteon. For consumers using the Sirius Satellite
Digital Audio Radio System, this will mean the ability to listen to 50
channels of commercial-free music, and up to 50 additional channels of news,
sports and entertainment programming.
"Visteon and Sirius will revolutionize in-vehicle entertainment," said
John Slosar, Director, Advanced Electronics and Telematics at Visteon. "At
Visteon, we're dedicated to providing breakthrough multimedia and telematics
systems -- and this agreement with Sirius will enable us to provide dynamic
satellite radio products for our OEM customers and their end consumer."
Through Sirius Satellite Radio, listeners in their vehicles will have
access to coast-to-coast audio entertainment, and will have an unprecedented
choice of programming across an array of formats.
In addition to excellent sound and reception quality, the satellite radio
product will display additional information for listeners, including the
channel name and number, artist and song title.
"Satellite Radio offers consumers access to entertainment never before
possible in a vehicle," added Slosar. "This technology promises to do for
radio what cable television did for TV by linking drivers with a multitude of
listening choices."
