Manugistics and QuestOne Form Alliance for Automotive eBusiness Solutions; Bridges Gap Between Product Portfolio Planning and Extended Trading Network Of Partners
ROCKVILLE, Md., May 8 Manugistics Group, Inc.
and QuestOne Decision Sciences Corporation today announced an
alliance for automotive eBusiness solutions designed to bridge the gap between
an automotive company's product portfolio planning activities and its extended
trading network of partners. By leveraging Manugistics intelligent decision-
making solutions for a trading network of partners and QuestOne's product
portfolio analysis technology, customers of the joint solutions can expect
increased product development rates, lower operating costs, shorter product
time to market and improved customer satisfaction. Joint marketing and sales
efforts will initially target automotive, industrial and high technology
clients of both companies.
Manugistics NetWORKS Demand(TM) planning capabilities will be joined with
QuestOne's product portfolio planning technology to more accurately predict
new product demand and future revenue. Profitability analyses should be
improved through the use of more accurate cost information, including the
categorization of fixed and variable costs, and through access to a more
accurate view of constrained resources across a company's trading network of
partners. Companies that utilize the joint solutions can also anticipate
reduced costs, shorter delivery lead-time, and reduced delivery charges.
"Today's automotive companies are just now realizing the largely untapped
opportunities for profit improvement through the integration of product
development and trading network activities," said Rich Bergmann, executive
vice president of global sales and services at Manugistics. "Our alliance with
QuestOne is particularly well suited to serve domestic automotive
manufacturers and their suppliers given the increasing cost reduction and
time-to-market pressures these companies face."
"Our automotive clients have made it clear that they seek an effective,
comprehensive solution that integrates the product planning and development
processes across the extended trading community," said Dinesh Khaladkar,
executive vice president at QuestOne. "By joining our product life cycle
management technology with Manugistics' intelligent decision-making solutions,
customers can expect to gain a critical competitive advantage. We believe this
alliance is another major milestone for both Manugistics and QuestOne as both
organizations continue to seek innovative business relationships."
In addition, the joint solutions will provide early notification of
problems that may arise for the extended trading network of partners, so that
companies will be better able to make timely decisions to cancel unprofitable
projects. Benchmark studies indicate that by using best-practice solutions,
companies can save up to 25 percent of their development budget through such
timely cancellations.
