New Hires in Autos, Energy & Building at Goldman Sachs

NEW YORK--The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. , announced today that it has hired three new equity research analysts in its U.S. Investment Research Group to extend coverage of the automobile, energy and building industries.
"Goldman Sachs research was rated number one by fund managers and larger corporations in the 2000 Reuters Survey, and we continue to attract top talent in all sectors," said U.S. Investment Research Group Managing Director, Greg Ostroff.
The new members of the U.S. Investment Research Group are:
Christopher Winham joins the firm covering Building Materials and Residential Construction. Chris has eight years experience in investment research and came to Goldman Sachs from Schroder & Co., where he was a vice president in equity research covering the building sector. Prior to that, Chris researched the capital goods sector for Salomon Brothers, Inc., and Bear Stearns & Co. Earlier in his career, he was responsible for private equity valuations and sales of closely held businesses for First Union National Bank. In 1999, he was recognized as a Wall Street Journal All-Star Analyst, placing first among his peers in stock picking and third in earnings estimates accuracy. Mr. Winham serves on the faculty of the Building Products Industry Mergers and Acquisitions Institute and as a guest speaker at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte's Belk School of Business. Chris is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds both a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Shawn Reynolds joins the Energy Group where he will focus on Exploration and Production, working closely with Alessandra Zortea and team leader Don Textor. He joined Goldman Sachs from Lehman Brothers where he covered E&P in New York and London. Shawn was identified as an "up & comer" in the 1999 Institutional Investor All-America Analyst Survey. Shawn received his M.B.A. from Columbia, an M.A. in Petroleum Geology from The University of Texas at Austin, and a B.S. in Engineering and Geological Sciences from Cornell University.
John Daviduk joins the firm covering the Automobile and Auto Parts industries working closely with team leader Gary Lapidus. John came to Goldman Sachs from Credit Suisse First Boston where he covered Automotive Parts. Prior to that, he worked at United Technologies Carrier Corp. John received an M.B.A. from The Wharton School, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University.
