SPX Corporation Increases 2000 EPS Guidance to $5.90 per ShareMUSKEGON, Mich., May 8 SPX Corporation today announced that it is increasing its earnings per share guidance for the year from $5.80 to $5.90 per share before unusual items. The $5.90 per share is a 17% improvement over 1999 earnings per share of $5.06. Commenting on today's announcement, John B. Blystone, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer said, "After reporting strong first quarter results, we are increasing our EPS guidance for the year by $0.10 per share. Expected revenue growth of 10% for the year including acquisitions, combined with continuing improvement in operating margins and strong performance by the businesses in the Technical Products and Systems segment support today's change in our EPS guidance." The company is making a presentation today at the 2000 Spring Conference of the Electrical Products Group.
