DaimlerChrysler Denies Deal with Hyundai & Mitsubishi

Germany - Responding to an earlier report of a deal with Hyundai and Mitsubishi to build 1-litre "world car", a DaimlerChrysler spokesman told Reuters news agency that "there are no talks between DaimlerChrysler and Hyundai about a small car and there have also been none." The previous announcement, issued from a Hyundai spokesperson, stated that a deal had been struck between the three car makers to build a new 1-litre engine car beginning in 2002.
