UAW Members at Lear Corporation in Michigan Overwhelmingly Ratify New National Agreement

    DETROIT, May 4 UAW members at two Lear Corporation
facilities in Michigan have ratified a new four-year agreement by a 97 percent
margin.
    "This impressive 97 percent ratification margin shows that our members at
Local 5960 and Local 1231 were pleased with the work of our leadership team,"
UAW President Stephen P. Yokich stated.
    "These negotiations were conducted in a highly professional manner on both
sides and produced a positive outcome for our members who gained wage, benefit
and workplace improvements," said Richard Shoemaker, UAW Vice President, who
led the UAW bargaining team at Lear.
    The new agreement covers 300 UAW members at UAW Local 5960 in Lake Orion,
Michigan and 1,100 members at Local 1231 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
