Tampa, St. Petersburg-Area Toyota Sales Climb In April

    MIAMI, May 4 Southeast Toyota Distributors, Inc. reports
that April's retail truck sales at Toyota's five Tampa/St. Petersburg-area
dealers climbed 49 percent over the year-ago month, while car sales advanced
13 percent.
    Tampa/St. Petersburg-area dealers include Clearwater Toyota, Autoway
Toyota, located in Pinellas Park; and Tampa's Courtesy Toyota, Precision
Toyota and Stadium Toyota.
    In the five-state region served by Southeast Toyota, an all-time April
sales record was established with retail truck sales advancing 43 percent over
the year-ago month and retail car sales advancing 17 percent.
    April's sales leaders include four all-new Toyota offerings: the full-size
Indiana-built Tundra pickup, the affordable ECHO sedan, the radically styled
Celica sports car, and the Kentucky-built Avalon sedan.
    Ranked first among Toyota's American distributors in sales and customer
