Santa Barbara Concours d'Elegance Retains VL Communications Group For 22nd Annual Motoring WeekendSACRAMENTO, Calif., May 3 Santa Barbara, Calif.-based Pro Sports and Entertainment, Inc. today retained VL Communications Group for marketing services on behalf of the 22nd annual Santa Barbara Concours d'Elegance, one of the nation's premier classic car events. Since acquiring the Concours early last year, Pro Sports and Entertainment has been adding ancillary events to expand it into a full motoring weekend in the picturesque coastal community. "We want our guests to enjoy the motoring experience and will present a full schedule of activities to make it a truly memorable weekend," explains Paul Feller, president of Pro Sports and Entertainment, Inc. Scheduled for September 15 through 17, the Concours Weekend is complemented by a celebrity golf tournament, an estate tour, Concorso Classico that celebrates Italian marques, a tribute to American cars, automobile art show, vintage car auction and a black tie gala at the soon-to-open five-star Bacara Resort & Spa, plus much more. The three-day showcase benefits numerous charities throughout Santa Barbara. "With the scope of activities increasing, we needed professional assistance in developing a communications strategy," explained Iver Petersen, director of operations for the Santa Barbara Concours d'Elegance. Founded in 1994 by Barry Toepke, VL Communications Group represents numerous automotive and corporate clients nationwide, including the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show, Monterey Historic Automobile Races, Vintage Auto Expo USA and American Cancer Society.
