Collins & Aikman Receives Quality Recognition From Toyota

    TROY, Mich., May 3 Collins & Aikman Corporation's
(NYSE: CKC) Newcastle-under-Lyme, UK facility was recently honored by Toyota
Motor Manufacturing (UK) Limited with its Quality Letter of Recognition for
achievement in continuous improvement.  The facility supplies carpet and trunk
liner products to Toyota in the U.K.  This is the Newcastle-under-Lyme
facility's second consecutive year of receiving recognition for outstanding
quality by Toyota.
