Mitsubishi Motors Joins the Fight to Erase Hunger
                North Central Region Employees Participate In
          Record-Breaking Nationwide Food Drive For America's Hungry

    SCHAUMBURG, Ill., May 3 Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America,
Inc. (MMSA) put forth its largest volunteer effort of the year to help feed
the hungry throughout America with its 11th annual food drive.  Volunteers
from MMSA's corporate offices, five regional offices, four parts distribution
centers, Mitsubishi Motors Credit of America (MMCA) and Mitsubishi Motors'
retail partners collected a record 1,363,114 pounds of food for America's
Second Harvest National Food Drive, held Mar. 27 to Apr. 14, 2000.
    America's Second Harvest is the nation's largest non-governmental domestic
hunger relief organization.  Through 190 affiliates across the United States,
it serves more than 50,000 non-profit organizations that reach the hungry,
including church pantries, shelters, senior centers, rehabilitation centers,
homes for abused children and other emergency assistance agencies.
    On a regional basis, employees from MMSA's North Central regional office,
located in Schaumburg, Ill., collected food and monetary donations (which
equate to 35 pounds of food for each dollar donated) for a total donation of
4,538 pounds.
    "We care about our communities so we're very proud to once again sponsor
this effort to alleviate hunger across the nation," said Greg O'Neill, MMSA
senior vice president and general manager.  "Our employees have done a
tremendous job, and we're enthused to have our retail partners join in this
year as well.  We're very proud of the spirit shown by our employees and
retail partners to make a difference in their communities by offering such
significant support to America's Second Harvest," he added.
