Nissan Division Reports a 31.8 Percent Increase in Sales; New Sentra Leads Car Sales
CARSON, Calif., May 2 Brisk Sentra sales helped boost the
Nissan Division of Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) April sales to 54,773
units, an increase of 31.8% versus last year.
Sales of the newly redesigned Sentra, which arrived in showrooms at the
end of March, totaled 6,401 units, an increase of 51.5 % over March. In the
sedan category, Maxima posted sales of 9,822 units, a 6.4 % increase versus
last year, while Altima sales were at 12,491 units.
Once again, trucks saw the biggest sales increase with Frontier sales of
9,144 units, a 63.9% increase versus last year and Pathfinder with sales of
5,874 units, an increase of 53.1 % versus last year and a record for the month
of April.
Sales of Nissan's North American-produced vehicles for April totaled
39,074 units, which represents 64% of all Nissan vehicles sold in the United
States.
Nissan North America, Inc. sales for April, including Nissan and Infiniti
Divisions, totaled 61,078, a 34.5% increase over last year.
