Hyundai Continues Record Sales Pace; April Sales Up 97% Over Last YearFOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., May 2 Hyundai Motor America today announced sales of 21,046 vehicles for the month of April, up 97% percent from one year ago. "The momentum generated by last year's record sales is continuing into 2000," said Robert Cosmai, vice-president of sales for Hyundai Motor America. "For the first four months of the year Hyundai sales are up 93% over last year. "With sales of 9,610, the Elantra continues to be our volume leader. Sales were up 113% over the same month last year," Cosmai added. "The all-new Hyundai Accent, with April sales of 6,045 units, is also showing excellent sales increases. April sales for the Accent were up 94% over last year," he said. "The Hyundai product line is nearly all-new and all our vehicles are backed with The Hyundai Advantage, America's Best Warranty which includes our 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty. In addition, our dealers are really focused on the franchise and their enthusiasm for the brand is paying off with increased sales," Cosmai added.
