BMW Reports Record April Sales Results; BMW Year-To-Date Sales Up 16 Percent
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., May 2 BMW of North America, Inc.
reported April sales of 15,337 vehicles, compared to 14,225 for the same
period a year ago, an increase of 8 percent. Year-to-date sales increased
16 percent to 58,126 compared to 50,033 in 1999.
April sales of BMW automobiles increased to 14,254. This is the 19th
consecutive month the company has broken the previous year's car sales
performance. Year-to-date automobile sales increased 8 percent, to
53,800 compared to 50,033 in 1999.
BMW also reported sales of 1,083 X5 Sports Activity Vehicles in April and
year-to-date sales of 4,326 SAVs.
The company also reported strong April sales of 3,974 Certified Pre-owned
(CPO) BMWs which represents a 93% increase over last year's monthly total of
2,054. Year-to-date, sales of CPO BMWs jumped 123 percent with 14,435 versus
6,486 same period a year ago.
