Woodside and REF Motorsports Move on from Irwindale to Tucson

May 2, 2000 (Palmdale, CA) - After struggling to keep the #4 REF Motorsports
Pontiac running in the top ten in last Saturday night's Home Depot 100
at Irwindale Speedway, Sean Woodside and the team are anxious to move
on to the next event on the Featherlite Southwest Series schedule, the
May 6th Patrick's Carpets/E.R. Carpenter 125 at Tucson Raceway Park in
Tucson, Ariz.

At Irwindale, Woodside worked with a car that was a little tight, holding
his own and passing cars where and when he could, but, generally, running
a few cars behind the leaders.  On the last lap of the race, he attempted
to pass the 73 car to lock in a 7th place finish, but the two cars got
together and spun between turns three and four.  Woodside finished the
race in 14th place, slipping from 4th to 5th in the point standings.

The team will take this week to prepare for next Saturday's 125-lap chase
on Tucson's 3/8-mile oval, where it hopes a solid finish will help it
regain the position in the point standings lost in the Irwindale race.

"It's still early in the season," commented Bob Farmer, REF Motorsports
team owner.  "We were disappointed to drop back a position in the points,
but that was just race three of 19 races this season.  Sean's had a win
and a top-five finish at Tucson in the Winston West cars, and REF had
a top-five finish there in 1998 and a second-place qualifying run in 1999.
 We'll work together, and, hopefully, we'll come out of Tucson with a
strong finish."

"Races like the one we had at Irwindale make you really appreciate the
ones that go well," quipped Woodside.  "Tucson has been one of my better
tracks in the Winston West cars, and REF is experienced there.  We feel
confident that we'll make a good showing this weekend."
