Additionally U.S. Army COSCOM (U.S. Army Corp. Support Command) recently called VIPER "The compact change headed for a better tomorrow." VIPER is the military designation for AuraGen. The Army in its report stated, "We recently used the Viper HMMWV in a field exercise and my personal opinion is that the Viper is a great piece of equipment," said Spec Roderick Butler, HHC, COSCOM. "It came in handy when our generators wouldn't start. We had the Viper installed earlier, so we put it to the test and used it to operate our equipment. It ran 21 hours and 30 minutes, operating two light sets, a television, a radio, three 60 watt drop lights, a coffee pot, three cell phones, six computers and three printers. We didn't have any problems." Additional durability testing is scheduled by COSCOM who plans to air drop AuraGens into a test zone to measure how quick deployment can be completed.
On the commercial side recently the AuraGen was installed on Utility trucks used by Southern California Edison and the City of Los Angeles Department of Water and power.
