Rolls-Royce, Bentley Showroom Opening in Midtown

NEW YORK--April 27, 2000--New Yorkers and tourists will soon be able to walk down Madison Avenue and window shop for not only high end clothing, but the automobiles to go with them.
Manhattan Motorcars, the exclusive dealers of Rolls-Royce and Bentley luxury cars, has signed a lease for a 4,253 square foot corner retail space at 437 Madison Avenue, a building owned and operated by Sage Realty Corporation.
The company will be opening a showroom, "Bentley Manhattan", in this ground floor space located between 49th and 50th Streets, in the heart of midtown. The prominent location is sure to draw spectators and buyers alike. Manhattan Motorcars currently has a dealership at 11th avenue and 28th Street, which will remain in operation.
Along with the four to five cars which will be displayed, the upscale showroom will house a leasing office and a boutique, in which customers can buy accessories and clothing having the prestigious Rolls Royce and Bentley logos.
Manhattan Motorcars is also planning to include a unique attraction, intended to add a new and different dimension to the typical car dealership. An automotive art gallery, whereby pieces of automobile related artwork from various areas of the world will be on display on the showroom floor.
The company is considering offering this artwork for sale in the boutique as well.
The architects, Roy Gee Associates, have created a set of front doors which will open to allow the cars to be driven in and out of the space and have also designed a removable sign made of bronze and aluminum to match the building, which will be displayed on the corner of the plaza.
Manhattan Motorcars plans to open its new showroom in approximately six weeks.
