Vitts Networks Signs Three-Year Agreement With New England International Speedway

    MANCHESTER, N.H.--April 27, 2000--

Vitts Brings Internet Super Highway to New England's
Super Speedway For High-speed, Always-On Media and
Administrative Internet Connections

Vitts Networks, a premier provider of high-speed Internet communications and enterprise networking services, announced that it has entered into a three-year agreement with NASCAR and New Hampshire International Speedway (NHIS), New England's only super speedway, to provide high-speed Internet connections for the media covering the upcoming races.
Housed in the NHIS' Jack Ratta Media Center sponsored by Vitts Networks, the 85 "always-on" connections that Vitts is providing will enable reporters and photographers to send real-time race news and statistics to press rooms and web sites reporting on Speedway events. Vitts has also connected the NHIS administrative building to the Internet, and serves both locations with synchronous service that uploads and downloads large files at the same high speed. The connections will send and receive data 100 times faster than the speedway's former dial-up Internet access.
Vitts has installed the Internet access in preparation for the NASCAR Busch 200/125, and the center will be in full operation for this event scheduled for May 12-13.
"The speed metaphor between Vitts' high-speed Internet access and motorsports is a natural," said Chris Oliver, Vitts chairman and CEO, "but this project's hidden value is in the steps the NHIS has taken to help journalists cover racing events in New Hampshire. By providing superior and reliable access capabilities, Vitts and the New Hampshire International Speedway are helping broaden the appeal of motorsports by enabling an around-the-clock response to the demand for sports news and information."
Gary Bahre, President of the New Hampshire International Speedway, said the speedway recognized the media's need for access, but wanted to be certain the provider they partnered with would provide more than the necessary bandwidth. "The media are sending time-sensitive news and information and must meet critical deadlines. Being sensitive to their needs, NHIS looked for a partner that would provide a reliable connection as well as a service and support organization.
"Vitts offers a `managed' service that continuously monitors their network and all of its connections. The company also provides around-the-clock technical support, so there's always someone available to help if an issue arises."
Bahre added that the response from the media has been enthusiastic. "The Associated Press has requested a connection, along with major daily and weekly newspapers, magazines, web sites and public relations reps," said Bahre. " The Vitts Internet access will make everyone's job easier and far more efficient. It's a win for Vitts and a win for the New Hampshire International Speedway."
