Also at the Automotive Systems Group, John Fiori has been named president of Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia-Pacific. Somma -- based in Plymouth, Michigan -- will direct all of the company's automotive operations in North America. Fiori -- based in Burscheid, Germany -- will direct the company's automotive operations in the rest of the world, including Japan. Both executives have had extensive careers in the motor vehicle supplier industry and many years of successful experience at Johnson Controls. Somma, who joined Johnson Controls in 1988, had been serving as the automotive group's president of worldwide marketing and business development. Fiori, who joined Johnson Controls in 1987, previously held the title president, Europe, Africa and Latin America, for the firm's automotive unit. "With these leadership appointments, we maintain and enhance our focus on customer satisfaction, world-class performance and business growth," said John Barth, president and chief operating officer for Johnson Controls. As Somma and Fiori take on expanded job responsibilities, another senior automotive executive at Johnson Controls has been named to a new position for the corporation. On April 20, officials at the company's world headquarters in Milwaukee announced the election of Michael Johnston as president of E-Business for Johnson Controls.
