Viking Freight Honored with NASSTRAC'S Regional LTL Carrier of the Year Award for 5th Time
NAPLES, Fla.--April 26, 2000--NASSTRAC Spring Membership Meeting - The members of the National Small Shipments Traffic Conference (NASSTRAC) have once again chosen Viking Freight Inc. to receive their Regional LTL Carrier of the Year Award. The coveted award recognizes carriers' excellence in innovation, service, technology, and performance. Viking, which serves shippers located throughout the U.S., has now received this prestigious award five times since NASSTRAC began giving it out in 1988."Viking has proved once again it is the premiere regional LTL company in the nation," said John S. DuBiel, vice president of global transportation for Revlon, Inc. and chairman of NASSTRAC's Provider Relations Committee, which coordinates the Carrier of the Year competition. "Viking has now been selected for the fifth time by NASSTRAC members who have applauded their efforts by saying thank you."
Carriers are judged by the members of NASSTRAC for demonstrating excellence in the following areas of high importance to shippers: innovation/industry leadership; rating and billing accuracy; e-commerce; on-time performance; loss and damage claims ratios and processing; technology; support of NASSTRAC and its legislative goals; and customer service. One example of how Viking exceeds on-time performance criteria is its consistent 98 percent-and-higher on-time delivery record.
At yesterday's awards ceremony Viking President and CEO Douglas G. Duncan commented on how much the award means to the Western regional carrier. "NASSTRAC epitomizes the new cooperative approach in streamlining supply chains. Viking is very happy to be an active participant and ecstatic to be recognized as a leader."
The annual award is presented to only one carrier in each of four categories: Regional LTL (less-than-truckload), which encompasses carriers providing continuous coverage in a regional market, Multi-Regional LTL, National LTL, and Package/Express.
