    CANTON, Ohio, April 25 J. Barry Harris has been named
marketing manager - automotive aftermarket for The Timken Company. Mr. Harris
had been regional sales manager for The Timken Company, in the Southeastern
United States.

leadership of our automotive aftermarket marketing," says Jack A. Cameron,
general manager-automotive aftermarket - North America. "He is positioned to
raise awareness of the Timken brand and to grow the sales of our full-line of
bearings and seals."
    The automotive aftermarket program at The Timken Company has grown to
include a full-line of bearings and seals. Mr. Harris will be responsible for
the marketing strategies for both light-duty and heavy-duty automotive
aftermarket.
    Mr. Harris joined The Timken Company in 1995 as regional sales manager.
Prior to this he held various sales and operations positions with
Federal-Mogul. A graduate of the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Mr.
Harris has a bachelor of science degree in marketing and industrial
distribution.
