(PRNewsFoto)[KI] SOUTHFIELD, MI USA 04/25/2000SOUTHFIELD, Mich., April 25 Lear Corporation (NYSE: LEA) today announced the appointment of Galo Leon to Vice President - Lear Electronics and Electrical Division (LEED) Mexican Operations, effective immediately. Leon reports to Lear President - Mexican Operations Osvaldo de Falco and LEED President William Pumphrey. (Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20000425/DETU020 ) In his new role, Leon is responsible for the LEED operations in Juarez and Chihuahua, Mexico and in Honduras. He is based at the company's Chihuahua, Mexico offices. Leon has held various operational, engineering and financial positions since joining Lear in 1991. Most recently he served as Vice President - Electronic and Switch Operations, LEED North America. In addition to serving as Director of Latin American Operations for Lear's GM Division, Leon has served as Engineering Director of the company's GM Division's Small and Mid- Size Passenger Car Group. Prior to joining Lear, he worked for Allied Signal in the Safety Restraints Division, and for Augat Wiring. Leon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University in Detroit. He and his wife, Ana-Lucia, and their two children will reside in the city of Chihuahua.
