Borealis Announces First Chorus Motor Patent
GIBRALTAR--April 25, 2000--Research and development specialist Borealis Technical Limited announces that a patent, titled "Poly Phase Induction Electrical Rotating Machine" Number 6054837 was issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office on April 25th, 2000. Further Borealis patent applications related to the Chorus(tm) technology and polyphase motors are pending.The Chorus(tm) Motor uses new windings and controllers to greatly increase the efficiency of AC motors. Characteristics of the Chorus(tm) Motor include very high start-up torque and greater efficiency, both within standard operating temperature limits. Tests have shown marked improvements over conventional AC motors, and industry experts are invited to inspect the technology under test conditions.
