Vertica Software Announces iComply(TM) Communicator

24 April 2000

Vertica Software Announces iComply(TM) Communicator
EMERYVILLE, Calif., April 24 Vertica Software, Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: VERI), an innovative developer of Internet ASP
(Application Service Provider) software and on-line information services that
serve the hazardous materials community and environmental concerns of
industry, today announced the release of the first module in its Web-based
iComply(TM) system for environmental management. The software will be made
available to industry as an Application Service that provides a low-cost, high
ROI solution for assisting companies in regulatory compliance. iComply(TM)
Communicator is expected to enable industrial facilities to efficiently manage
environmental reporting, emergency response, and crisis communications before,
during, and after an emergency incident. The Vertica Software iComply(TM)
environmental management series, of which iComply(TM) Communicator is a part,
is expected to cover a wide variety of Environmental, Safety and Health (ES&H)
issues, and is expected to be made available on the Vertica Software Web site
scheduled to launch late this month.
Hans Nehme, president and CEO, said, "The web-based system offers managers
and responders an effective way of staying 'in synch' and 'in compliance' with
government regulations while managing a hazardous waste or environmental
crisis from anywhere in the world." The Communicator module includes
emergency response plan builders, environmental compliance wizards, public
affairs and crisis communications tools, as well as environmental report
preparation and automated document submission.
The iComply(TM) Communicator is a browser-based software product that
offers real-time emergency response planning. It steps users through incident
response scenarios, guides emergency notifications and crisis communications,
and enables community outreach. It includes on-line discussion groups and Web
posting that allows instantaneous communication between responders, employees,
and the community. In addition, the Communicator includes an automated
environmental report function that coordinates reporting efforts, streamlines
document submission, and works to reduce potential reporting errors.
iComply(TM) Communicator can be used by safety engineers, public affairs
specialists, and environmental scientists for emergency planning, community
right-to-know, and related regulatory compliance at companies that handle,
store, or transport hazardous chemicals or materials. iComply(TM)
Communicator is capable of being linked to chemical and waste inventory, Web
press rooms, and hazardous materials information including government and
industry contacts, regulations, glossary, and material safety data sheets --
tools-of-the-trade for the hazardous materials community and environmental
concerns of industry.
