approaching.  It's not May 1st yet, but our May section meeting is one week
early, hence this notice is a week early as well.  Our May meeting promises
to a great one though.  Bring a friend.  Bring your kids.

SAE SoCal Golf Event The SAE SoCal Golf Event has been scheduled in
conjunction with the annual SAE Future Transportation & Technology
Conference at the Costa Mesa Country Club.

Date:	Sunday, August 20, 2000 
Time: 	10:00 AM
Place: 	Costa Mesa Country Club, Mesa Linda Course

Cost: 	$57 per person, includes green fees, cart, refreshments,  prizes,
and a nominal tax-deductible contribution to SAE student activities.

Registration:	To sign up for the tournament, please send a brief email
with your names and the names of any family members or guests you may be
bringing to:  Nasser Harris, Isuzu Motors, ngharris@isza.com   To confirm
your reservation, send a check (Payable to SAE So. Cal) for payment in full,
to SAE SoCal, P.O. Box 660 Torrance, CA 90508-0660.  Payment must be
received before July 10, 2000.  We are also looking for volunteers and
sponsor companies.  We appreciate your interest and look forward to your

FINAL MONTH -- Arte y Estilo:  The Lowriding Tradition - One of the Most
Comprehensive Museum Exhibitions Ever Assembled on Lowriders
Coming to the Petersen Museum February 5-May 28, 2000  -  Arte y Estilo: The
Lowriding Tradition, one of the most comprehensive museum exhibitions ever
assembled on lowriders, will premiere February 5 through May 28, 2000 at the
Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.  The exhibition will showcase a
range of historic and innovative customized lowriders, from the classic
1930-1940 models known as "bombs,"  to the popular Chevy Impalas of the late
50s and 60s. Also included are examples of lowrider trucks and bicycles<an
offshoot of the lowrider aesthetic taken up by youths.

Special Exhibits & Events at the Museum of Flying

JUNE 25th  - MUSTANG WINGS AND WHEELS 10AM TO 4PM 
More than 100 Mustang automobiles and several P-51 Mustang airplanes will be
on display. Weather permitting, the P-51's will take to the sky in
commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the first flight!! 

JULY 16th  - FERRARI CAR SHOW 10AM TO 3PM 
More than twenty of these colorful, exotic, Italian beauties will be on
display from 10am to 3pm. These cars are part of the Southern California
Ferrari Car Club of America.
