Caliber Collision Centers Enhances Expansion Plans, Appoints Vice President of Corporate Development

    IRVINE, Calif.--April 20, 2000--Illustrating the commitment to expanding Caliber Collision Centers' reach throughout the West, the Irvine-based operator of high-quality collision repair facilities announces the hiring of Ed Medvic as vice president of corporate development.
    Medvic joins Caliber Collison Centers after spending 12 years developing, acquiring and operating waste disposal and related services for Browning Ferris Industries, the second largest provider of such services, with annual revenues exceeding $4 billion. According to Matthew Ohrnstein, president of Caliber Collison Centers, Medvic's experience with developing and acquiring facilities in cohesive regional networks can be directly applied within the collision repair industry.
    "Ed has managed dozens of acquisitions aggregating into the hundreds of millions of dollars and also has significant operations experience," Ohrnstein said. "I believe he will be an outstanding addition to the company and an excellent fit within our corporate culture."
    Medvic's role at Caliber will be to lead the overall corporate strategy to develop collision repair facilities that meet the needs of insurance providers and vehicle owners.
    Medvic earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley. He resides in Sacramento with his wife, Cindy and two children, Derek and Shannon. Medvic also remains active with the American Diabetes Association.
