Connelly Delivers Keynote Address at the Automotive News Marketing Conference in New York
    NEW YORK, April 20 Today, Jed Connelly, senior vice
president, sales and marketing, Nissan North America, Inc., delivered the
keynote address at a special marketing conference hosted by Automotive News
during this year's New York Auto Show.
    Connelly spoke before an audience heavily dominated by publishers and
other media, including a number of key automotive executives, addressing the
topic, "A Brand New Game: Forging an Identity in the Age of Media
Convergence."
    Connelly, who has been with Nissan for over ten years and has assumed
various marketing positions, focused on the successful integrated media
launches of Xterra and Sentra.  He also shared some new information on the
Infiniti Divisions' marketing efforts and upcoming media plans.  In addition,
Connelly also touched on the subject of continuing media mergers and the
affect they may have on automotive marketing.
    Earlier this year, Connelly also addressed the Automotive News World
Congress, where he talked about Nissan's marketing strategies emphasizing the
use of the internet as a communication tool between manufacturers and
consumers.
    "Media convergence has made our jobs easier in number of ways," said
Connelly.  "We no longer look at one media at a time.  It's all glued
together.  One call can get us into a range of broadcast, print, internet and
promotional opportunities."
