Johnson Controls Named Sears 'Partners in Progress' and 'Chairman's Award for Innovation' Winner
MILWAUKEE, April 19 Sears, Roebuck and Co. has recognized
Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI) with two of the retailer's most prestigious
supplier awards for 1999 -- Partner's in Progress, and the Chairman's Award
for Innovation.
The Partners in Progress award acknowledges the contributions of the
retailer's top one percent of product and service suppliers. More than 10,000
sources are considered, but it is given to less than 150 Sears suppliers.
The Partners in Progress program also includes awards for various
achievements. Winners are selected based on recommendations from Sears store
support organization. The Chairman's Award for Innovation is given to select
sources, which have contributed the most meaningful product development or
innovation.

Partners in Progress Awards are a form of recognition for high quality,
