SDRC Elects MIT Innovation Leader to Board of Directors
CINCINNATI--April 19, 2000--SDRC (Nasdaq:SDRC), a global supplier of e-business collaboration solutions for the product lifecycle, announced today that Maurice F. Holmes, co-director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Center for Innovation in Product Development (CIPD), funded by the National Science Foundation and ten corporate partners, has joined the Board of Directors of SDRC. Holmes is also professor of the practice of management and engineering systems, MIT."Maurice Holmes' track record as vice president of Time to Market and chief engineer of Xerox, combined with his leadership role at MIT's Sloan School, make him an ideal new board member to help guide SDRC's e-business collaboration direction," said Bill Weyand, chairman, president and CEO of SDRC. "Through his work at MIT's Center for Innovation in Product Development, and by collaborating with its many industrial partners, Maurice brings a unique insight into the best practices of some of the world's leading manufacturing companies."
Holmes joined MIT in January of 1999 as a professor of the practice of management and engineering systems. He holds a dual professorship with both the Sloan School of Management and the School of Engineering. In addition, Holmes currently serves on the Board of Directors of CVC, Inc., the Optical Dynamics Corporation, and Storage Technology Corporation. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Holmes holds a B.S. in Physics from the University of Pittsburgh and a M.S. in Mechanical and Aerospace Science from the University of Rochester. Prior to MIT, Holmes was chief engineer and corporate vice president of Xerox Corporation where he was responsible for the design and implementation of a new Xerox end-to-end product development business process that maximized the effectiveness and productivity of the Corporation's RD&E investment. As a member of the Corporate Executive Team, he also ensured that the Corporate RD&E Portfolio, Corporate Time to Market process, and the corporate Strategic Business process were integrated and congruent with the plans of Xerox business units.
