Susan F. Davis Elected Director of Butler Manufacturing Company

    KANSAS CITY, Mo.--April 18, 2000--Susan F. Davis has been elected to the board of directors of Butler Manufacturing Company (NYSE:BBR).
    Mrs. Davis is vice president, human resources for Johnson Controls, Inc. The company is a global market leader in automotive systems and facility management and control. In the automotive market, it is a major supplier of seating and interior systems, and batteries. For nonresidential facilities, Johnson Controls provides building control systems and services, energy management and integrated facility management. Johnson Controls (NYSE:JCI), founded in 1885, has headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It's sales for 1999 totaled $16 billion with 95,000 employees worldwide.
    Mrs. Davis serves on the board of directors of Quanex Corporation and Junior Achievement of Wisconsin.
