    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., April 17 Lear Corporation (NYSE: LEA)
today announced the appointment of Michael J. Maloney to Vice President -
Advanced Electronics for Lear's Technology Division, demonstrating the
company's commitment to further expanding its electronics and telematics
capability.

    In his new position, Maloney is responsible for directing all activity
relating to the internal development of electronics and telematics within the
automotive market, and for coordinating existing advanced support with Lear's
customer focused divisions, and the Lear Electronics and Electrical Division.
    "The addition of Mike to the Tech Division's team represents a significant
advantage for Lear as we continue to focus on developing fully integrated
vehicle interior systems for the world's automakers," said Jim Masters,
President - Technology Division for Lear.  "Mike brings experience, expertise,
creativity and clarity to a complex and rapidly expanding market.  We are
fortunate to have access to his considerable talent, which will be an
important contributor in our continuing success."
    Maloney joins Lear from Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, where he
most recently served as both Director of Visteon's Advanced Electronics and
Telematics business, and President of Visteon Technologies, LLC.  Mike has
more than 20 years of experience in the automotive industry.  His previous
positions have focused on product development, operations and strategic
planning for the automotive electronics market.
    Maloney earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a
Masters in Business Administration from the University of Michigan in Ann
Arbor.
    Maloney and his wife, Gail, reside in Plymouth, with their son.
