Unique Mobility Appoints Richard L. Hugen as Director of Marketing and Sales
GOLDEN, Colo., April 17 UNIQUE MOBILITY INC. (Amex: UQM)
announced today the appointment of Richard L. Hugen as Director of Marketing
and Sales. In this capacity, Mr. Hugen's primary responsibility is the
marketing and sale of Unique's proprietary power dense, high efficient
electric motor and motor controller systems and coordinating the cross
marketing activities of Unique Power Products and Franklin Electronics.
Commenting on the appointment, William G. Rankin, President and CEO said,
"Dick has an excellent background with degrees in both physics and finance and
brings a wealth of experience to our Company. During his career he has led a
number of companies to achieve significant sales growth. We are pleased that
he has accepted this assignment. We have proven technology aimed at growth
markets, an increasing number of products under development and quality
manufacturing facilities in place with capacity for growth, its time for us to
put more emphasis on marketing and sales."
Mr. Hugen's previous positions include National Sales Manager for XEL
Corp. in Aurora, Colorado, Executive Vice President, Manager-Sales and
Marketing, for Delsen Testing Laboratories, Inc. of Glendale, California and
Manager, Marketing and Contracts for Teledyne Industries in Pomona,
California.
Mr. Hugen Bachelors Degrees are from California State University at Long
Beach, in addition to a Management Certificate from the Claremont (California)
Graduate School. He also completed the Strategic Marketing Management Program
at the Harvard Graduate School of Business in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Mr. Hugen, was a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force, was chief
instructor training pilots to fly 737 aircraft for United and Frontier
airlines and also has served as a corporate pilot.
