Low-cost Nitrogen Tire Conversion Station for Trucks, Automobiles and Motorcycles
LAFAYETTE, Colo.--April 17, 2000--Nitronics Systems, Inc. located in Lafayette, Colorado has just announced an important addition to their TireLast(tm) line of products.Their new lower cost Tire Conversion Station(tm) is used to convert tires from air to nitrogen using either readily available high-pressure nitrogen cylinders or their Nitronic(tm) nitrogen generator. "Our customers have been asking for a more economical system that could utilize a lower capital cost nitrogen supply," states Nitronics President Nick Verini. "As the demand for nitrogen increases, the facility can easily upgrade from cylinders to our on-site nitrogen generator."
The new mobile station features an advanced microprocessor design for controlling the conversion or topping-off of tires and a patent pending "fast purge" design that is part of the system's electronic gas dispenser. This design speeds up the tire conversion from air to nitrogen, gives higher nitrogen purity in the tire and uses less nitrogen in the process.
Nitronics Operations Manager John Anderson states, "Air diffuses through tires 30-40% faster than nitrogen resulting in under-inflated tires. The US Department of Energy estimates that the USA could save two million gallons of gasoline every day if our tires were properly inflated. Furthermore, other parts of the world have adopted nitrogen tire inflation for their trucks and automobiles and its popularity is increasing for good reason."
An estimated 40-80% of all vehicles on the road are operating with under-inflated tires resulting in decreased fuel economy. As gasoline prices increase this issue will become all the more important for consumers.
The units will be manufactured in Colorado and available for fleets and automotive service facilities such as fast lubes, service stations, tire stores, auto repair shops, auto dealers and bike shops.
