Second-Largest Motorcycle Dealership in State Opens May 2 in Smokey PointSMOKEY POINT, Wash., April 14 The Smokey Point Cycle Barn will throw open its doors on May 2, hitting the ground as the second-largest motorcycle and off-road vehicle dealership in the state of Washington. Only the original Cycle Barn in Lynnwood, which opened in 1972, is larger. The Smokey Point shop will feature a 22,000-square foot showroom plus a 7,000-square foot service department. The store will feature complete sales, service and accessories for Yamaha and Honda motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles and personal watercraft. The store will open with 20 employees, most hired locally. The store is located in the old Johnny's Market location on the northeast corner of the Smokey Point exit (#206) off Interstate 5. Construction started last December. Jim Boltz, owner of Cycle Barn, said everyone connected with the store was excited to come to Smokey Point. "The most beautiful scenery in the Pacific Northwest is within easy driving distance of Smokey Point," Boltz said. "There are lakes, mountains and some of the best riding roads in the country, all right here. The community has shown tremendous interest in what we're doing, and we've made a commitment to be a part of the community for the long term." Craig Southey, a long-time Cycle Barn employee and resident of Arlington, will oversee store operations. "This store will be unique," Southey promised. "We're doing things that have been copied by the industry nationwide. The store will be a fun place to visit, whether or not you currently own a vehicle."
