UCB Chemicals Announces Price Increases

    SMYRNA, Ga.--April 14, 2000--UCB Chemical Corporation, the world's leading supplier of raw materials to the UV/EB curing market, announces a price increase of 6% on all their products. The effective date of this price increase is May 15, 2000.
    "This move was driven by the recent escalation of several raw material costs," said Steve Awadalla, Marketing Manager, Industrial Coatings Group. "UCB has successfully avoided any significant price increases since 1997 through improved efficiency and the streamlining of our operations. We do, however, regret any inconvenience this may cause our customers," Awadalla said. "We continue to be committed to the growth of our technology and, we believe, we deliver the most advanced materials at the best possible value. To that end," he continue, "UCB Chemicals has started an aggressive capital expansion program that will double acrylate capacity worldwide within the next few years."
