Standard Motor Products Quarterly Dividend 9--Cent-- Per Share

    NEW YORK--April 14, 2000--The Board of Directors of Standard Motor Products, Inc. (NYSE: SMP) today announced a regular quarterly dividend of nine cents per share on the common stock outstanding.
    The dividend will be paid on June 1, 2000 to stockholders of record May 15, 2000.
    Standard Motor Products, Inc. is a manufacturer and distributor of automotive replacement parts.
