Lear Corporation Recognizes Suppliers With Hall of Fame Award
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., April 14 Lear Corporation (NYSE: LEA)
today announced the selection of eight companies as recipients of the 2nd
Annual Lear Corporation Supplier Hall of Fame Awards. The awards, presented
last night during a recognition event at Lear World Headquarters, pay tribute
to the best suppliers to Lear's North American Operations for 1999.
Using the Lear Supplier Rating System, Lear selected the award winning
companies based on quality, delivery, service and competitiveness. Out of
more than 1,650 suppliers to Lear's North American Operations, only eight
companies were honored with the prestigious Hall of Fame Awards for 1999.
"Our supplier partners play a crucial role in our success and our focus to
advance relentlessly in meeting the needs of our customers," said Kenneth L.
Way, Lear Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "These suppliers represent
the best of the best in 1999 and are helping us meet and exceed the
expectations of our customers."
"Our 1999 honorees have established benchmarks for quality, delivery,
service and competitiveness that are worthy of distinction," said Steve
Hayworth, Lear Vice President of Global Purchasing. "These companies have the
drive and commitment necessary to succeed, and exemplify the level of
performance that will ensure the long term success of the entire enterprise."

    The Woodbridge Group
Woodbridge of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, is a leading producer of
molded foam globally, providing an extensive list of urethane products
necessary to meet the ever-changing needs of Lear's customers. With a strong

industry as well as in the marketplace. Woodbridge is the only Lear supplier
that also received the Hall of Fame Award for 1998.

    Bayer Corporation & Nova Chemical
Bayer and Nova worked together with Lear to develop a new instrument panel
structural concept, with Bayer supporting the hybrid component and Nova
providing the structural duct.

firm's involvement in launching Lear's "full circle" e-commerce system has
been the first major installation of its type in the auto industry.

    Fasco DC Motors
Fasco of St. Louis, Mo., is Lear's largest and fastest growing direct
current motor supplier. This company's excellent quality, delivery and
technical ability has established Fasco as a leader in a highly competitive
market. The focus on quality and innovation has helped Fasco to become an
integral part of Lear's new Mark II seat adjuster system, which was unveiled
at Lear's display during last month's Society of Automotive Engineers 2000
World Congress and Expo and will be introduced into the marketplace this fall.

    Janesville Products

non-woven fiber insulation for the North American automotive market, and a key
global partner with Lear Corporation.

valuable partner to Lear.

The Lear Corporation Supplier Hall of Fame Awards were established to
