Federal-Mogul's Pontotoc, Mississippi, Facility Celebrates Two Million Hours of Safety ExcellenceSOUTHFIELD, Mich., April 13 Federal-Mogul's (NYSE: FMO) Pontotoc, Mississippi, chassis team announces they have completed two million hours worked without a lost-time accident. This milestone began in January 1996 and was achieved on February 22, 2000. "This is an incredible success for our team," said Pontotoc Plant Manager Allan Roye. "This success is the result of a great team effort from everyone. Our team truly understands their health and safety is a priority." The safety excellence the plant has experienced is attributed to an investment in a new training program in 1993. This program included safety glasses, hearing protection, manufacturing safety measures, and it stresses to all workers that they must maintain a mindset that focuses on safe work practices. Federal Mogul's Pontotoc chassis team celebrated their success on March 14, with special guests, city officials and the #77 NASCAR Moog(R) M2 show car -- a touring version of the Winston Cup race car driven by Robert Presley of the Jasper Team. The Pontotoc plant produces ball joints, idler arms, coil springs and other parts including metal stampings.
