Oasis Car Wash Becomes the Largest Full Service Chain in Greater New Orleans With the Purchase of Soft Touch
DALLAS--April 13, 2000--Oasis Holdings, Inc., the parent of Oasis Car Wash, completed the purchase of the Soft Touch Car Wash chain on the West Bank of New Orleans.Featuring four units complete with Tunnel washes, gasoline, lube centers and detail centers, Soft Touch compliments the Oasis Car Wash and Lube Center already operating on the north shore in Mandeville, La. "Soft Touch is a jewel of a chain and we are excited to add it to our company," stated Rick Weyand, President and CEO of Oasis Holdings, Inc. Soft Touch started with the building of their first store in Gretna, La. in early 1989. Through purchase and development Soft Touch became the dominant chain on the West Bank of New Orleans with over 250 employees. Oasis Car Wash, Inc. recently became a subsidiary of Oasis Holdings, Inc. to properly reflect the reverse merger with HomeCare United, Inc. (HUI). These strategic moves are part of an overall objective to move the company into the public market and grow the chain nationally.
Other notable acquisitions in recent weeks include the Soapy Sam's Car Wash on Hwy. 6 in Houston, the non-operating Galaxy Car Wash in Stafford, Texas to the southwest of Houston and the lease and conversion of the Econo Lube on Preston Rd. in North Dallas. Oasis Car Wash, Inc. is the largest upscale, full-service car wash chain in the state of Texas, and in both Dallas and Houston, by market.
