A. Schulman Inc. Appoints Rengarajan Ramesh Vice President of Technology
AKRON, Ohio--April 12, 2000--A. Schulman Inc. today announced the appointment of Rengarajan Ramesh to serve as Vice President of Technology. The Company's Board of Directors approved the move at its quarterly meeting here this morning."Ramesh is an outstanding technical person who has also served in several production, marketing and managerial capacities," President and Chief Executive Officer Terry L. Haines said. "We are fortunate to have such internal expertise and feel this latest move will enable Ramesh to have substantial positive impact on our deployment and use of the latest in polymer technology."
Ramesh, 39, had been general manager of A. Schulman's Asian operations since 1995. Before that, he was marketing and technical service manager for A. Schulman in Mexico for five years. After joining A. Schulman in 1984 as a research engineer, Ramesh also worked as a laboratory manager and production manager. Ramesh holds three U.S. patents and two more disclosures have been filed. He is an author and speaker on a variety of packaging and polymer technology topics.
He holds a 1982 bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Annamalai University, Chidambaram in South India, and master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Akron, with specialties in polymer blends and grafting polymers.
Ramesh currently lives in Singapore with his wife, Rangashree, and two children, and the family is relocating to the Akron area.
